Technical Support

In this unit You will learn how to implement appropriate hardware and software upgrades. You should by now be aware that communication is central to everything we do in the digital world. The internet and other technologies allow us to send and access information anytime and just about anywhere. As a practitioner you need to understand the different methods of digital communication and be able to support users who wish to use these technologies effectively.

You will learn about internet connectivity, security issues, email and web-based tools for collaborative working. Your work for this unit has four strands. The first two relate to the system you installed for Unit 4 — an upgrade to the system and an on-screen technical support manual. You will also produce a presentation on web-based tools for collaborative working and, finally, a report addressing the communication requirements of a small business.
